Christmas Gator 18" X 24" (46 X 61cm) Acrylic on illustration board. One of my all-time favorite clients was a greeting card company, called Paper Moon Graphics of Culver City, CA. The jobs didn't pay that great, but I could do them as filler, when there was a lull in advertising work. Plus, they trusted me and, aside from spelling out the basic concept they wanted, allowed me to execute the works the way I wanted, without any interference or questioning. Paper Moon's been gone for a while. In fact, when I first started doing work with them, the fax machine wasn't even around. Art director, Robert Fitch, would express mail his rough sketches to me. Often, they were scribbled on cocktail napkins. I often wondered where he was, when he'd come up with some of the more bizarre ideas.
